Hey boomer....New music?

When you get an email from Music Direct entitled 'New music arrivals' you might be a little surprised to see what that actually means to audiophiles. And only $60 for SuperVinyl....If ever there was a sign of an aging demographic...

75 yrs here. Mostly listening to Sam Evian, Cass McCombs, Kurt Vile, Magnetic Fields the last five years. That and chasing down wonderful recordings of great classical era symphonies by Beethoven, Rossini, Tchaikovsky and the like.
I never listen to the same old tired out music from my youth. Much of it was slick commercial boring AM radio hits anyway. I would just as soon listen to pop music from the 30s-40s when the writers were more mature and the lyrics better written.
These constant re-issues of my childhood by artists no longer in fashion are really just taking the easy route to limited commercial success. It's a shame the times can't afford better promotional effort to support modern artists. And that moderns have to generate income from playing live. And there aren't too many places to play live anymore. Music has SHRUNK but there are still real songwriters out there today. Just don't make me listen to Billy Joel ever again and we'll call it even.
