PledgeMusic is a platform for interfacing musicians and fans that offers some unique opportunities to obtain recordings that might not otherwise happen. While most of their releases are not of interest to me, there are some that capture my attention. Joe Satriani is releasing an album (available on vinyl) of new music (with Chad Smith on drums and Glenn Hughes on bass) that he seems quite enthused by -- take a listen.
